Corporate Events & Hospitality Days
Apart from Stag/Hen and family/friend weekends I have now skippered lots of Corporate Charter days.
Sailing as a form of Corporate Entertainment is brilliant and an excellent great value alternative to the more usual rugby/golf/racing days. We have circa 6 people on the boat – usually 2 hosts and 4 customers/clients. Everyone gets a chance to steer the boat and play with the sails if they want but crucially there is also time to chat and build relationships.
Being based in Lymington is perfect. We tend to sail to Yarmouth for lunch. That means we can usually sail across the Solent on either challenging or easy points of sail to suit the guests. It gives great flexibility for all types of weather so although sailing is very much weather dependent, we rarely have to cancel.
I have either hosted or attended many types of corporate event days and firmly believe sailing to be the best – it combines activity, challenge and a chance to chat and build relationships unlike any other type of event.
My challenge every day is to ensure the hosts and guests have a fantastic and memorable day and I get so much satisfaction when they depart at the end of the day on such a high and with grins from ear to ear and much stronger relationships with each other.
