The Solent

A major sailing area situated between the South Coast mainland and the Isle of Wight. It seems to have its own micro climate with some protection from the elements. It has numerous beautiful bays, marinas and villages. Relatively easy to get to. Ideal for sailing days, weekends and weeks.

Training

You learn something informally anytime you get on a yacht. You might later decide to charter a boat & skipper and learn some more informally or even join a formal RYA course. I teach for various RYA schools around the Solent. A newly qualified skipper may want some assistance the first time they charter or in early days of owning a boat. I mostly ‘teach’ around the Solent. So there is a range of help – both formal and informal.
