The Weekend
Remarkable activity and hugely popular weekends. Perfect for meeting old and new friends in the privacy of your own yacht with superb changing views. Potential for lots of activity and excitement or a more relaxing weekend, enjoying lunches at anchor – if the weather is suitable. Always time to chat and relax. If there is more than one boat you’re likely to want to race – always fun. If you have more than 2 yachts, the stag/hen can swap boats to ensure maximum mixing but everyone is together before and after sailing anyway.
There are yacht options for small and large groups. The majority of charter yachts sleep 8 people but there are smaller and larger yachts available. Sometimes the skipper sleeps on board and sometimes they go to a B&B so you have one more berth available on board. Depends on yacht coding and which charter company.
You don’t have to be able to sail and you won’t necessarily get wet! See the many more myths there are to be quashed!
The Solent
The Solent is the perfect Stag and Hen destination. Relatively easy to get to, great scenery, seems to have its own microclimate, lots of bays and marinas that are within easy reach.
Cowes is the popular evening destination for Stag and Hen sailing weekends. There is good range of restaurants to suit all budgets, group sizes and tastes. You will need to pre book. There is good live music in a few pubs – The Anchor being the most notable and central. There are often events going on in this international yachtie centre. If you are staring from Hamble, there is also a good range of restaurants in the cobbled village within easy walking distance. Lymington has a quality restaurant in the marina or there are other choices in town – a 15/20 minute walk. Again – pre booking needed
The Solent seems to have its own micro climate – the weather is often nicer than elsewhere in the country. Even on a ‘bad’ weather day, we still have lots of fun – perhaps even more memorable. Wet weather gear is available!
