Yachting sounds extravagant but costs can be managed.
Cost
The type, size and age of the yacht will affect the price as will the number of people to share the cost with. Some boats are coded for say 10 but have 8 berths. That allows space during the day for a skipper who then sleeps ashore. Typical yachts have 8 berths but there are some with 14 berths. Each cabin usually has a double berth so you will be sharing although the main saloon often has 2 separate berths. If you wanted a cabin each then you would need to have only 4 or 5 on board or someone could find a B&B ashore. So you have choices to fit the event to a budget. If you have spare berths it also makes storage of bags easier.
You can bring as much or as little food and drinks to minimise extra costs over the weekend. Certainly you will want food for snacks and lunches and maybe breakfasts. We may be at anchor for lunch hence need for some food.
You save on hotel costs as you sleep on board – just remember the sleeping bags etc
