Fastnet Race 2013
Just completed the Fastnet Race with a great Russian crew. We had probably best conditions possible but it was still plenty challenging. Some great photos on my FB page. This picture includes Parallel Blue sailing with Team Snell banner as we started our 608 nm race. It took us just over 4 days.
We had sun, rain, wind but poor visibility meant we could barely see the Fastnet Rock when we got there! Naturally not much sleep – the tricky navigational bits were always at night. There was the extra challenge of having to avoid all 4 TSS. We were rewarded with dolphins swimming around the boat several times – always a great sight.
As I was sick on the cold wet dark nights I promised myself never again but ………
Fantastic sail back from Plymouth on the Friday – sunshine and perfect wind. A great way to end our epic trip.
