Some great sailing in the Solent in October. Mixed weather with some wet days but not really cold. As ever some great views at sunrise, sunset, moon rise, mid day. Quite magical. I don’t want the sailing season to end…..

Lots of teaching coming up over next few months – Competent Crew, Day Skipper, Yachtmaster Prep plus more. Love meeting and helping others learn and enjoy the many challenges of sailing and becoming a skipper.
Sailing is not always sunshine and shorts! Shortly before this we enjoyed lunch in the cockpit in sunshine but we could see the storm brewing all around us. We were simply in a sunshine pocket but we knew it couldn’t last. We got the reefs in just in time as did the other nearby boats….
It helps to have wind for sailing but lack of it did not spoil the fun of the medical regatta this weekend. Just meant Pimms at lunch time outside Newtown Creek having drifted down to the first mark. Champagne later and dinners at the Royal London Yacht Club and Royal Yacht Squadron. Great mix of…
