Yacht Racing and Regattas

Charter two or more yachts and you can have your own boat race. With your own regatta and informal yacht racing, guests will usually helm and crew the boats. With the major regattas, the professional skipper may helm but the guests are fully involved crewing. This is discussed to meet client and team preferences.

Boat Charter

To enter one of the organised regattas you need to charter a race boat. For more informal sail boat racing and for your own yacht racing you can have as much fun and benefit using matched sailing boats. That saves costs and they do the job very well. See FAQ.

Cowes week

Cowes week is a major international sailing regatta with racing over 8 days in early/mid August. It is a high profile corporate hospitality event with plenty of sailing activity and evening activity if required.

Yacht racing is exciting and a brilliant team exercise. It involves leadership, communication, everyone knowing their role and how it impacts on others. It is both challenging and fun and there is plenty of adrenalin. That also means plenty of post event fun.

A memorable day or weekend with some great stories that people will be talking about for a long time.

See Cowes week and Round the Island for personal sailing too.

Why use Kirsten Hunter Sailing

Sailing can be a mystery and organising a sailing regatta is even more difficult. It takes considerable time trawling through the internet to find what sail racing is possible, which boats to hire, understanding what is involved, understanding why prices vary, thinking about all the extras – lunches, directions, briefings.

I can save you time. I work with the host to hire sail boats, organise the day, prepare draft briefing notes, book breakfast and lunches, answer guest queries and generally help the host. This will usually save you money too.

My aim is to make the day as stress free and easy as possible for the host and as enjoyable as possible for the guests. I often skipper one of the yachts too so I am there to ensure the day runs smoothly. The host can therefore concentrate on building relationships with his/her guests and teams – and enjoying the day too.

It is possible to do full blown ‘high end’ yacht racing or more informal sail racing. I can work with you to help decide which is most suitable for you.
